Data Analyst

Are you an expert at analyzing organizational data and making it accessible for all of your colleagues? Is Business Intelligence your professional passion?

Full-time / Part-time · Groningen

In our ongoing effort to be a fully data-driven company, we are looking for an experienced data analyst to join our team. We are building a data warehouse, and that’s where you come in: you will be the data analysis expert that helps us extract the most value from the data we have. When other circles (teams) have data requests or questions, you will be the go-to person for those requests. You will explain how the data can be obtained, as well as how it should be interpreted. Another part of the job involves educating people about data in order to enable them to create their own metrics and find their own data driven answers. These efforts will contribute to our ultimate goal to create a self service business intelligence environment.

Our ideal colleague is someone who has prior experience with data analysis and process improvement, and it's a major plus if that experience was at a company with similarities to ours, such as internet-based, customer support-centered, or having zero-touch) sales. You consider yourself to be proactive, analytical, and personable. You actively enjoy sharing knowledge with your peers and colleagues, and believe discussions around data are as important as the data itself. User-friendly dashboards are easy for you to make, because you think that data is valuable for everyone and therefore want it accessible for everyone.

Our stack - tools and techniques we use

  • Wherescape - for ETL automation
  • Dashboarding tools
  • Model storming - We follow the modeling technique of Lawrence Corr
  • Star schemas

  • have at least 5 years of experience with business intelligence & analytics
  • are able to explain and educate about the data you are working with

Next to the tools we develop and sell, we also connect people through the foundation, 48percent.org and the open source community, the Open VoIP Alliance. Our companies are located in Groningen, a beautiful city known for its innovation and the second fastest growing tech city in the Netherlands.

Working with us

If you look around the office, you’ll notice we do things a bit different around here:

  • We organize ourselves using a system called Holacracy. We believe every colleague is able to contribute to the organization rather than relying on a traditional hierarchy. Having no managers comes with extra responsibility to take ownership of your work and set priorities that help to further the organization.

  • We work with a “build, measure, learn” mentality and open mindset. We recognize that not everything you do is going to work right away. We praise experimentation and reward trying something new, even if the lesson is to not try it again.

  • We have an open and transparent salary system. Every colleague is placed in the pathway and a level best fitting their education, experience, and visible behavior. We encourage growth and have clear guidelines and expectations for doing so.

  • We are a diverse and inclusive team of international coworkers. We value the differences that each person brings to the table and think that it's those differences that strengthen our organization.

What we offer

  • A relaxed and welcoming culture with celebrations, events, and trips

  • A competitive salary and good pension benefits
  • An annual study budget and study days for personal and professional growth
  • Two weeks leave when welcoming a new member to the family
  • Other benefits that contribute to your health, well-being, and work/life balance
